Description
Betaine 5M (Molecular Biology Grade)
Betaine (trimethylglycine or N,N,N triethylammonium acetate) is a PCR enhancing reagent that is well known for increasing the yield and specificity of PCR products. It is useful for the PCR amplification of DNA fragments that are high in GC content and/or have secondary structures.
Betaine reduces the melting temperature of the DNA fragments and primers with more than 1 M of concentration. The best annealing temperature for each PCR, RT-PCR, and qPCR should be determined individually.
